Title: The Place of Access to Justice in Clinical Legal Education (CLE) Scholarship
Lead Presenter: Anne Kotonya
Session Abstract: The perennial tension between the social justice mission and the pedagogical mission of Clinical Legal Education (CLE) is perceptible in review of clinical scholarship. This is especially the case in regions where CLE has taken deep root. Scholarship from regions with nascent clinical programs, however, appear to give priority to the social justice mission. Cognizant of the primacy of place that the social justice rationale takes in the context of regions with nascent clinical programmes, the presentation aims at examining the place of access to justice in CLE scholarship in these regions.
