Lead Presenter: R M Bakri, Rizq Nurrqausar
Session Abstract: Clinical Legal Education is an interactive programme for law students to promote learning by providing legal literacy of law to the community. The law faculty of University of Malaya has been implementing Clinical Legal Education through its Community Outreach Programme (COP) and Legal Aid Clinic (KBGUM). This paper serves as an approach to understand the beneficial outcome of joining these programs from the university student’s perspective. For COP, it conducts street law programme that provides a platform for students to work with various institutions i.e. governmental organizations and nongovernmental organizations, with the purpose of educating the public with legal knowledge. Some of the COP members also take part as student advisors for KBGUM and there are several ways on how street law has benefited the student advisors.
