Session Abstract: Topic: Legal literacy research in Czech republic: searching for the definition of "an average person“ Goal: To get a general opinion on who an average person is and what is the level minimum this average person should have, the basic set of skills and knowledge, to be able to successfully deal with everyday situations. Abstract: During this block, presenters are going to present a research that is currently carried out at the Palacky University in Olomouc. The research is focused on finding the definition of an average person and discovering what is the minimum legal knowledge of pupils and students between the age of 15 to 18. Participants will be asked special questions, the same kind of questions students in the CR are asked in order to find out whether or not they have the particular knowledge. The questions used, were created on basis of the most common cases from the Student Legal Office operating within the University. The main task for participants will be to decide whether or not this knowledge is necessary to have to be legally literate, or, whether it is important to teach these particular issues, or, if students from their countries know or should know how to deal with these situations.
